Learn it where it actually happens.
A floristry apprenticeship inside a working flower shop. Train under Lisa — real orders, real customers, real deadlines — and walk out ready to work as a florist.
Why a shop beats a classroom
The usual way
Big-city design schools run excellent programs — and charge for it, with tuition commonly landing between $4,000 and $8,500 for a few intensive weeks. You practice on flowers bought for practice, then graduate into your very first real order.
The Bloom School way
You learn inside Simply Blooming, on the real thing: today's orders, this weekend's wedding, a funeral piece that has to be perfect by Thursday. By the time you finish, "your first real order" happened months ago — and you've handled a hundred since.
The whole trade, not just the pretty part
The same ground the big design schools cover — fundamentals through business — taught the way trades have always been taught: at the bench, next to somebody who does it every day, in a class never bigger than four.
Tools, mechanics, conditioning, color and form. Round arrangements, vase work, hand-tied bouquets — the muscle memory everything else is built on.
Daily orders, birthdays, anniversaries and "help, I forgot" deliveries. Wrapping, pricing, care and handling, and keeping a cooler honest.
Casket sprays, standing tributes and urn pieces — the most demanding and most meaningful work a florist does, learned with the care it deserves.
Bridal bouquets, wearables, installs and on-site setup. You'll work real weddings alongside Lisa — timelines, load-outs, emergencies and all.
Corsages, boutonnieres and flower crowns — homecoming and prom season is a masterclass, and you'll be behind the counter for it.
Ordering and wholesale, pricing that keeps the lights on, customer care, merchandising and social media. The part most schools save for the last chapter — you'll live it daily.
Small on purpose
You'll finish with a portfolio of work that was real the day you made it — and a florist's name to vouch for yours.
Spots are limited — this is a working shop, not a lecture hall, and Lisa takes no more than four students at a time. Tuition, schedule and start dates are all a conversation, not a form.
